Lake City Community College (LCCC) began as a school of Forestry in 1947 and has established a strong tradition of providing high quality, postsecondary educational opportunities to the citizens of North Florida. Lake City Community College is only one of two community colleges in the state to offer on campus housing. Pharmacy Technician Applied Technology Diploma

The Pharmacy Technician Applied Technology Diploma consists of required coursework and two internships. The one year program consists of 1050 contact hours (5 vocational credits and 36 credit hours) of pharmacy technology and related courses. After completion of these courses the student is awarded an Applied Technology Diploma and is prepared to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certificate Exam (PTCE).

Admission Requirements

THE APPLICANT MUST:
  1. be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.;
  2. complete a Lake City Community College application and submit the appropriate application fee;
  3. complete the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) with a score of Math 11, Language 10, Reading 10;
  4. complete a Pharmacy Technology Program Supplemental Application;
  5. receive academic advisement from the Pharmacy Technology Program Coordinator. AFTER ACCEPTANCE: This is a limited enrollment program After acceptance into the Pharmacy Technician ATD, the students must submit the following items to the program coordinator:
  6. submit documentation of a recent physical, which includes proof of immunization records (Hepatitis, MMR, & Chickenpox and a PPD skin test);
  7. submit proof of accident and health/hospitalization insurance;
  8. submitproof of a negative drug screen for controlled substances;
  9. submit a Request for FDLE Criminal History Form to the program coordinator;
  10. submitproof of four hours of AIDS in Florida continuing education;
  11. submitproof of CPR-Health Care Provider certification.
