Excellent employment opportunities exist in retail pharmacies; hospitals; long term care facilities, and with other health care employers. The technician is a specialist working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. Duties are assigned by the pharmacist and are related to preparing and dispensing medication in accordance with standard procedures and laws.If you are interested in becoming a Pharmacy Technician, register for a Career Talk and Exploration Session, where you will receive an application with detailed information. Student selection will be made by August for each class
Admissions Requirements
- Admission into a degree or diploma program requires completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- Admission into a certificate program may require completion of portions of the placement test
- HS diploma or GED equivalency documentation
- Interview with program director
- TABE assessment if no prior college courses (no charge for assessment testing)
- Transcript for previous college courses if applicable
- Background Check through PreCheck (www.PreCheck.com) Student submits online
- drug screen may be required.
- Prerequisite Course: Medical Terminology
Academic Degree
Pharmacy Technician Certificate (A student successfully completing an ASHP approved program and PTCB national testing are currently eligible for designation as a SC Board of Pharmacy Certified pharmacy technician.)Address | Locations
